Maximizing Momentum: How Peninsula Bay Trust Company leveraged The Hunt to optimize and unlock the full power of Cheetah

After implementing Cheetah’s trust accounting platform, the team recognized that while the foundation was in place, they had only begun to tap into its full capabilities.

By attending The Hunt, Cheetah’s annual client conference, Peninsula Bay gained the insight, training, and peer connections needed to fully activate the platform and build a roadmap for scalable growth.

Challenge: Scaling a growing trust company without fully leveraging Cheetah platform

When Nikki Sloan joined Peninsula Bay as Chief Operations Officer in March 2025, the company was expanding rapidly. With a small team supporting a growing client base, operational efficiency and strong controls were essential.

Cheetah had been implemented the year prior, but like many growing organizations, Peninsula Bay had focused first on continuity and day-to-day operations.

“I wanted to understand everything Cheetah was capable of,” Sloan said. “If we were going to scale responsibly, we needed to make sure we were leveraging the platform the way it was designed.”

Solution: Unlocking efficiency and insight through The Hunt and strategic implementation

At the recommendation of a trusted industry consultant, Sloan attended The Hunt with a clear goal: learn from Cheetah experts and connect with trust companies operating under similar models.

She began with the pre-conference hands-on training, which provided a deeper look at platform functionality.

“That’s when the aha moments started,” Sloan said. “I could see the system in action and realized how much more we could be doing with it.”

The training allowed Sloan to ask detailed, operational questions and receive immediate clarity. Features that Peninsula Bay had not yet implemented—such as structured account reviews, automated workflows, reporting capabilities, and marketing list generation—were available and in-use by other firms.

Beyond the speaking sessions, the conference’s networking environment also exceeded expectations. Sloan intentionally connected with 15 to 18 standalone trust companies to compare best practices, operational models, and workflow strategies.

“The networking was invaluable,” she said. “I needed to see how firms like ours were using Cheetah and what success looked like in real time.”

Armed with new insight, Peninsula Bay left the conference with a clear action plan focused on maximizing the platform’s capabilities.

One immediate improvement was leveraging Cheetah’s built-in administrative account review functionality, strengthening compliance while eliminating manual documentation outside the system.

“We realized we could streamline our annual reviews directly inside Cheetah,” Sloan said. “That alone improves consistency, oversight, and audit readiness.”

The team also implemented Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services to create additional operational capacity.

“We’re taking a phased approach,” Sloan explained. “BPO is step one. From there, we can continue layering in reporting, marketing lists, and additional workflow enhancements.”

Rather than overwhelming the team, Sloan developed a structured roadmap focused on high-impact improvements delivered in the right sequence.

Results: Confidence, clarity, and partnership

The Hunt provided Peninsula Bay with the knowledge and confidence needed to fully embrace the platform.

Since attending the conference, the company has:

  • Expanded utilization of key Cheetah features
  • Strengthened compliance through systemized processes
  • Implemented BPO to increase operational capacity
  • Developed a clear roadmap for continued optimization

Sloan also continues to connect with peers she met at the conference, sharing workflows and validating best practices.

“Now we have clarity and momentum,” Sloan said. “We understand what’s possible and how to move forward.”

Conclusion

For Peninsula Bay Trust Company, The Hunt was more than a conference—it was a catalyst for unlocking the full value of their Cheetah investment.

Through hands-on education, industry insight, and meaningful peer connections, the team gained the clarity needed to optimize operations and support long-term growth.

“The conference gave me confidence,” Sloan said. “It showed us what’s possible.”
